Sub: Increase of Dearness Allowance of Central Government employees from 46 to 50% of pay w.e.f. January 1, 2024 - Payment of Allowances at enhanced rates to the staff-reg.

Pursuant to upward revision of Dearness Allowance from 46% to 50% of pay with effect from 01/01/2024 in terms of Railway Board's letter No. PC-VII/2016/1/7/2/1 dated 15/03/2024 (RBE No. 26/2024), the following Allowances are required to be paid to the employees at enhanced rates from January 1, 2024. Some staff have been contacting NFIR and pointing out non-payment at increased rates. In this connection, it is informed in the orders issued by the Railway Board in the year 2017, it has been clearly indicated that the rates of following Allowances will be increased when DA increases to 50% of pay.

(a) National Holiday Allowance (NHA) - Rate to be enhanced by 25% (refer RBE No. 108/2017
-Railway Board's letter No. E(P&A)I-2017/HL/1 dated 30th August, 2017.

(b) Conveyance Allowance - To be enhanced by 25% (RBE No. 89/2017 - Railway Board's letter
No. F(E)I/2017/AL-4 dated 10/09/2017.

(c) Children Education Allowance & Hostel Subsidy-To be enhanced by 25% (RBE No. 147/2017-Railway Board's letter No. E(W) 2017/ED-2/3 dated 12/10/2017.

(d) Travelling Allowance - to be raised by 25% (RBE No. 84/2017) Railway Board's letter No.
F(E)I/2017/AL-28/40 dated 08/08/2017).

(e) Special Train Controllers Allowance To rise by 25% (RBE No. 86/2017 - PC VII/2017/1/7/5/3 dated 10/08/2017).

(f) Breakdown Allowance - To rise by 25% (RBE No. 106/2017-E(P&A)II/2017/BDA-1 dated
30/08/2017).

Federation requests the affiliates to check up the factual position in their respective jurisdictions and see that the above mentioned Allowances are paid by the concerned Administrations at enhanced rates with effect from 01/01/2024.
