References and queries have been received in Board's Office seeking clarification regarding admissibility of option for coverage under Railway Services (Pension) Rules, 1993 in terms of Board's instruction of even number dated 10.03.2023 of those Railway employees, who were appointed on compassionate ground and in

whose cases advertisement/notification for recruitment/appointment is not issued.

2. Earlier a similar clarification was sought by Northeast Frontier Railway(NFR) and Federations on the above subject and after consultation with DoP&PW, NFR and the Federations were advised vide Board's letter of even number dated 06.02.2024 and 07.02.2024 respectively, regarding the course of action to be taken in such cases. A copy of clarification issued to NFR vide letter dated 06.02.2024 is enclosed herewith.
