Defense pensioners requested to complete the annual identification by 20 February 2023

All Defense Pensioners drawing pension through Pension Management System (Raksha) or SPARSH are requested to complete Annual Identification by 20 February 2023. Completion of Annual Identification/Life Certification is a statutory requirement for continuous and timely credit of monthly pension.
It will be recalled that the Ministry of Defense (MoD) had earlier approved the extension of pension payment by three months for bank pensioners who migrated to SPARSH and whose identification was due in November 2022. Three million ninety thousand three hundred and sixty-six (3,19,366) pensioners from of Defense who draw pension through SPARSH has not yet completed its annual identification, according to information currently available with the Defense Accounts Department. It is imperative that these pensioners complete the Annual Identification/Life Certificate before the deadline.
Annual identification/life certification can be done by the following means:
Through Digital Jeevan Pramaan online/Jeevan Pramaan Face App for Android users.

· SPARSH Pensioners: Select Sanctioning Authority as “Defence – PCDA (P) Allahabad” and Disbursing Authority as “SPARSH – PCDA (Pensions) Allahabad”.
Pensioners can complete the Annual Identity/Life Certificate by logging in with https://sparsh.defencepension.gov.in/ and selecting:
· Download and upload a manual life certificate (MLC) duly signed by an authorized person, or
· By opting for Aadhaar based Digital Life Certificate (DLC)
Pensioners can also visit the nearest service center established by the following agencies to fill in their annual identification/life certificate:
· Common Service Centers (CSC) – To find nearest CSC click here: https://findmycsc.nic.in/
· Nearest DPDO Service Center or Defense Accounts Department.
· Service Centers set up by SBI, PNB, Bank of Baroda, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.

Pensioners who have completed their identification can check the status on SPARSH portal at https://sparsh.defencepension.gov.in/?page=trackPpoStatus / Services -> Know our SPARSH PPO and Identification Status.
An older pensioner (pre-2016 pensioner) who has not yet migrated to SPARSH can do their life certification as they did in previous years. To do life certification through Jeevan Pramaan he/she has to select the concerned sanctioning authority like “Defence – Jt.CDA(AF) Subroto Park” or Defense – PCDA (P) Allahabad” or “Defence – PCDA (Navy) Mumbai & Disbursing Authority as your respective pension paying bank/DPDO etc.
SPARSH is a web-based system for processing pension claims and crediting pensions directly to bank accounts of defense pensioners without any external intermediary. The system is being implemented by the Ministry of Defense to fulfill the pension, sanction and payment requirements of the armed forces. It is a centralized system of sanctions, claims and pensions with easy validation and correction of data through self-verification, creating "first right data" with guaranteed accuracy. It uses a digital process to identify pensioners, eliminating the need for repeated visits by pensioners to pension offices.
