Sub:- Provision of economy meals and affordable packaged drinking water in GS coaches.

Ref: Board's letters of even no. dated 27.06.2023 and 25.07.2023.

(ii) IRCTC's letter no. 2019/IRCTC/Catg./Policy Instructions/02 dated 11.01.2024.

This is in continuation to Board's letter referenced above, vide which instructions were issued regarding provision of economy meals and packaged drinking water in sealed glasses at platforms for passengers of GS coaches on a pilot basis for a period of 6 months from 27.06.2023 to 26.12.2023.

2. The Competent Authority has accorded approval for extension of this scheme for another period of 06 months on pilot basis w.e.f. 27.12.2023 to 26.06.2024 in terms of Board's letter dated 27.06.2023 and 25.07.2023. During the intervening period, i.e. beyond 27.12.2023 to the date of issue of this letter, if any unit is closed, the licence fee would be adjusted on a pro-rata basis.

3. Necessary action needs to be taken accordingly.

4. This issues with concurrence of Finance Commercial Directorate of Ministry of Railways.
